I met some really great people. I was able to learn a lot from this internship about the work force in general but also about Operations.

What I wish was different

There was very little insight to what the interns would be doing over the course of the internship and that led to a lack of productivity amongst the interns.

Advice

Don't be scared to ask for direction and guidance when you need it. Your colleagues want to help you.

I enjoyed the fact that hours were not enforced. Everyone was expected to complete their work every week, but could do so in any way and at any time that they liked.

What I wish was different

Being a large company, Amazon has a lot of bureaucracy when it comes to moving code into production.

good pay, set schedule, extra hours if you wanted them, good breaks, very accommodating.

What I wish was different

The software and the device quality that the facility used was lacking and led to a big loss of time when working just waiting or troubleshooting a very unintuitive system.

Advice

If you like being able to walk around do repeated labor tasks that you get on a little device, then this is the job for you. It is very nice to zone out and work without having to interact with others too much.

I wish the company was more organized in their internship process and offer process.

Advice

Amazon is great as a big tech company, but I’d much prefer other companies that offer more perks (less to worry about), are more personable and more organized. They didn’t confirm my internship location until 1.5 weeks before starting, and they didn’t respond to any emails or requests to call prior to starting either.

They wouldn't have been so strict and it wouldn't have been the third shift. Also, more hours would've been nice.

Advice

If you're going to work here, you're going to work very hard and for every $ you earn. You'll be sore and sweating the entire time cause of how fast-paced it is.
