I loved working on trails in Plumas National Forrest and living in the outback. They focus heavily on community building as well, which makes strong interpersonal relationships. The crew leaders designate high levels of responsibility to the crew members, which is a great experience for young adults just entering the workforce.

What I liked
I enjoyed the work we did - mostly fuels reduction and other fire management work. I also enjoyed the amount of responsibility I had. I didn't feel overwhelmed with my supervisor duties, but I got a lot of freedom. I got to be a soft leader.
What I wish was different
Not much. I enjoyed the experience a lot.
Advice
