Graphic Design Intern

What I liked

Got experience of what graphic design is like. Worked with real clients.

What I wish was different

Bigger projects that are portfolio worthy. A bit of a higher wage. Other on-campus graphic design positions get $13-$15.

Advice

Have expert communication skills and check your E-mails often. Keep a good work flow so you don't get stuck, if you do, use your resources wisely. Use the people around you because everyone needs help at some point.

Toxicologist

What I liked

I enjoyed learning the chemistry behind a none research position. I also found that the application of chemistry and everyday was every fulfilling.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have researched more on how the system was built before I began working there.

Advice

I would advise others to be slow, accurate, and safe above all regardless of what the employer wants. These chemicals are dangerous and extremely sensitive so you must be mindful of your time exposing the chemicals in the hood vents. Procedure needs constant work so have patience and find the best way for you.

I loved the creativity to solve problems, investigate new ideas, and the freedoms to create unique solutions to problems.

I wish I had the opportunity to combine my academic research with partners in industry, to better institute the new environmentally beneficial drinking water treatments we developed.

Never give up! Engineering is all about troubleshooting and being persistent!
