Process Engineering Internship
POSITION SUMMARY Jireh Semiconductor is offering a paid Process Engineering Internship in the area of EPI for Summer 2023. This is intended to be a three-month internship spanning the summer months and will be on site at our Hillsboro, OR facility. We are looking for a passionate, driven Engineering student who would like the opportunity to learn more about the Semiconductor Manufacturing Industry. The Process Engineer (EPI) will work closely with other engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure robust manufacturing processes are established and maintained.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Shadow/receive mentorship from a current Jireh Process Engineer
- Learn about the wafer fabrication process
- Understand the silicon epitaxial process
- Work independently (but with support) on a project to support the process engineering team in their goals
- This project will be designed by your mentor to both add value to the organization and allow you to gain experience in a specific area of interest relating to your degree
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT Regularly required to sit or stand and move around the facility and in class 100 clean room. The ability to face technical challenge and high pressure in mass production line.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Majoring in an Engineering discipline or Materials Science; Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Material Sciences preferred
- Undergraduate and graduate students will both be considered
- Preference will be given to those attending school in Oregon
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong Microsoft Office skills required, VBA experience is a plus
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong ownership and passion for success
- Ability to work with people one on one and in a team environment
- DOE and Statistical Data analysis skills is a plus
- Demonstrated model based problem solving skills in work area is a plus
