Staff Accountant

Riley Wigle CPAs is looking for a tax professional to join our team. We are a well-established firm with a solid client base in need of a professional to help maintain and expand relationships with our existing clientele. This role involves direct client contact, so the perfect candidate should have excellent communication skills, enjoy maintaining client relationships, and have the desire to serve clients with quality and professionalism. Responsibilities
  • Prepare corporate, partnership, individual, trust and estate tax returns
  • Assist in the preparation of compiled and reviewed financial statements
  • Participate in the creation and development of processes which enhance client experience and improve efficiency  
  • Assist with new client development, and engage with the local business community 
  • Obtain information from clients regarding taxable income and deductible expenses
  • Maintain a working relationship with selected clients
  • Keep up to date on the latest tax information and regulations
  • Participate in pre-tax season planning, gathering information and setup
  • Research fundamental tax issues and seek advice when confronted with challenging or unusual circumstances

Qualifications
  • 0-3 years recent experience in accounting, CPA firm experience preferred
  •  Experience in preparing individual, corporate, partnership, trust and estate returns
  • Excellent research, interpersonal, and writing skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or another related field
  • Willingness to act as a team player in a small firm environment 
  • Licensed CPA or the eligibility to sit for the CPA exam
  • Ability to work approximately 60 hours a week as needed during busy season, typically February to April 15th and during other critical tax deadlines
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and Lacerte software preferred
