Roboticist

A Roboticist at Universal Logic will assist in developing state of the art robotic solutions for warehouse logistics automation. The Roboticist will work directly with the Senior Roboticist and other engineers from the inception of the job through site installation and handover. Tasks involve teach pendant programming on industrial arms (one or more of Yaskawa, ABB, Fanuc, Kuka), testing and debugging robot code, wiring I/O devices, optimize robot code for most efficiency, setting up the system on the field, and ensuring the system meets the client’s expectations. Preference will be given for candidates who also have .NET programming experience.

Qualifications
·        Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
·        At least 5 years’ experience in the industry.
·        Must have an innate passion for solving complex engineering problems.
·        Must demonstrate ability to implement algorithms in published papers.
·        Experience with hardware design, construction, controller I/O layout.
·        Strong analytic and problem solving skills to diagnose problems on the field and address them.
·        Familiarity with industrial robots, controllers and peripherals.
·        Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and related technical documentation.
·        Flexible work and travel schedule, ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, able to travel to customers’ sites on short notice.
·        Excellent ability to read, write, and speak English, as well as communicate effectively with a wide range of customer personnel.

The Company
Universal Robotics has created a form of artificial intelligence (Neocortex) that using sensor data to update control system behavior in real time. It interacts with Universal's 3D software, Spatial Vision, which provides 3D inspection and 3D vision guidance. Universal is implementing the technology on industrial robots and other hardware to improve automation, provide flexibility, and enable human/machine interaction. Most of the technical staff have advanced degrees (PhD, MS), and are experts in robotics, vision, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and 3D sensor technologies.
