Process Improvement Intern, Consumer Affairs & Warranty

SUMMARY
 
·       Under direct supervision of Manager, Warranty, analyze the current business databases for Warranty and Consumer Affairs, and develop a formal continuous process improvement program which utilizes data for performance monitoring and problem delineation, and result in projects which enhance and refine department processes and protocols.
 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY
  • Learn about the Warranty and CA business group databases, and establish a data collection plan (50%)
  • Develop and document steps and establish a database for a statistical process improvement program (30%)
  • Pilot the process improvement program with one aspect from both the Warranty and CA (20%)

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION:
·       In progress of Bachelor’s degree with a major than includes coursework in:
  • Data Analytics, Probability, and Statistics
  • Statistical Process Control
  • Multiple Step (8D or similar) Problem Solving Methodology
  • Quality Assurance
 
OVERALL RELATED EXPERIENCE:
·       Prior internship experience related to Quality Assurance or Process Engineering a plus
·       Analytical or administrative support experience a plus
·       Automotive knowledge or experience a plus  

SKILLS
·       Proficient with the following PC skills: Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
·       Microsoft SharePoint proficiency a plus
·       Excellent written and oral communication skills
·       Well organized, with ability to complete projects as assigned
·       Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

·       Must be able to work under minimal supervision, with moderate level of independent judgement required in all areas of responsibility.
·       Must be self-motivated and a self-starter
·       Have the ability to identify and resolve problems with moderate supervision, with the ability to make thorough and accurate assessments pertaining to assignment deadlines and prioritize needs.
·       Policies and procedures exist to guide decision making.
