Productive Resources (www.prhires.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team in Waterloo, IA. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will provide CAD modeling and CAD layout design support as well as engineering technical design support to our engineering team.
This is a temporary intern position with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional future opportunities within our organization.
Duties:
- Design and/or model parts and assemblies and create drawings of low to moderate complexity, by applying established drafting standards and practices to information contained in layouts, marked drawings and verbal instructions
- Apply proper dimensioning and tolerance principles to define allowable variation of parts and assemblies based upon the designer/s and/or engineer's functional specifications
- Assist designer and/or engineers in the preparation of layouts and/or geometry to be used for the creation of detail and assembly drawings
- Submit and retrieve the data files as required
- Draw preliminarily sketches and select standard items to incorporate into a design
Requirements:
- Minimum 30 credits completed at an accredited college or university.
- Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design or related major.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimal manufacturing/engineering industry knowledge.
- Understanding or experience with various skill-sets.
- Understanding or use with various software packages.
- Results-oriented work habits.
- Good organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license and automobile.
Preferred Skills:
- Basic understanding of GD&T ASME Y14.5 – potential opportunity for on the job training and practical application.
- CAD experience with Creo.
- PDM experience with PTC Windchill.
