Engineering Intern

DESCRIPTION
Moxxly is looking for a hands on engineer to join our team. Our intern will work closely with the engineering team to brainstorm, build, and test prototypes related to breast pump systems.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who loves to build, test, and tinker, and is equal parts creative and investigative., We’re seeking passionate people who deeply believe in the Moxxly mission to create highly functional, well-designed products for women.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, build, and test sensor based prototypes.
  • Characterize sensor/system performance.
  • Research electrical/mechanical fundamentals, materials, and sensor technology as needed.
  • Maintain a neat and organized record of completed experiments.
  • Conduct benchtop verification testing on prototypes.
  • Accompany the user research and testing team on validation and usability tests.
  • Summarize and convey learnings from verification and validation testing.
  • Work 20-40 hours a week (flexible start and end dates June - Sept. 2019)

YOU
  • Are a junior, senior, recent graduate, or Masters student in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other closely related fields.
  • Have great problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Enjoy hands-on building, testing and troubleshooting.
  • Are a great generalist across broad engineering disciplines.
  • Are extremely organized and familiar with research and documentation.
  • Have experience building mechanical systems.
  • Are interested in user-centered design methodologies.
  • Bonus: Have skills and experience with machining, rapid prototyping, 3D printing, CAD (e.g. Solidworks, Inventor, ProE, NX, Creo), ECAD (e.g. Altium, Eagle), Statistical Methods, MATLAB, Python, Arduino, and Programming in C/C++.
