Operations and QA Intern

Join our award-winning team as an Operations intern. Your timing could not be better. We are currently onboarding new customer programs and providing two internships, two for the Fremont, California facility and another for our Indianapolis, Indiana facility beginning on or about June 18, 2019. In this critical role in Fremont, you will work for the Vice President of Operations and support the Director of Quality and Director of Supply Base Management to develop assessment tools, including risk based assessment, as well as metrics and corrective action models to optimize the supplier quality. Duties include:

·        Performance metrics evaluation and reporting

·        Lay-out and process flow mapping and optimization

·        Conduct department review and analysis

·        Implement automation initiatives

·        Data analysis and reporting

·        Implement quality initiatives, controls, and FMEA

 

In Indiana, the work is for mixed production, warehousing and fulfillment operation: Develop methodology for internal key performance indicators and customer required metrics for continuous improvement and measurement to service level agreement. Coordinate validation with metrics gathering methodology with staff at our ALOM headquarters in Fremont, CA. Help train staff to use and interpret metrics.

We are flexible regarding start and stop dates, but prefer minimum 4 full months of internship. Internship is paid, using living wages standards. We cover the expenses for Visa application and for health coverage bought through ASF, travel cost are reimbursed upon completion of internship. Apply no later than March 31, 2019.

Our dream candidate is enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate college program with two years of college education in business or engineering. We are looking for an exceptional and driven individual who is a creative thinker yet analytical and detail-oriented with ability to maintain and develop relationships across functional teams.

ALOM is offering the following Operations Intern package:

Base salary $17.00 per hour U.S. and

·        Up to US$2000.00 reimbursement to cover the following (contingent upon completion of internship):

o  Plane ticket to and from your home country

o  Ground transportation pickup upon your arrival at a Bay Area, California or Indianapolis, Indiana airport

o  Hotel reimbursement for your first week

·        One paid day off during your first week of work so that you can obtain your driver’s license and social security card at our local facilities and complete other necessary paperwork for your stay

·        ALOM will pay all ASF fees and other visa related fees

o  An ALOM representative will sign as your ALOM sponsor

·        ALOM can offer you support in finding a suitable room, transportation and arrangement of practical matters

·        ALOM Human Resources department will work with ASF to help you obtain proper documentation to work in the United States such as:

o   J-1 visa, training/internship placement plan, student and exchange visitor program, and certificate of eligibility for exchange visitor J1 status

o  This offer is contingent upon your obtaining the appropriate visa
