Internship - Manufacturing Development/Process Validation Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Development Engineering Intern to work in a dynamic R&D environment this summer. In this role you will work alongside a group of passionate engineers to create innovative solutions that truly make a difference. This Internship will give the student experience with real-time Manufacturing Process Development work and lead into the Process Validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) of a given product line.
DEKA offers Internships for full time students* (must be at least 18 years of age). Internships last a minimum of 10 weeks, 12 preferred, and summer internships are to begin no later than June 17, 2019.
Job Description:
  • Generate assembly procedures or updates
  • Assist with Product Validation development
  • Use mechanical design background for creating assembly fixtures
  • Apply Lean/ 5S skills to manufacturing line development
  • Assist in assembly of fixtures, equipment, and line efficiency reviews
  • Work with Machine Shop to obtain fixture components
  • Work with Laser and EPE foam for shadow box development
Requirements:
  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Manufacturing Engineering program
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands on mechanical experience (working on cars, fixing bicycles or FIRST robotics experience a plus)
  • Background in machine shop practices
  • Must have experience in Solidworks, Creo or AutoCAD Inventor
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter eager to contribute in a team environment
  • Must be detail oriented
Applicants should be aware that short-term housing options in Manchester, NH are limited and that DEKA is not able to assist with housing. Interns in the past have stayed at a local school that offers their dorms for the summer.

*A full time student is defined as being enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits per semester at an undergraduate program, or a minimum of 9 credits per semester for a graduate program.
