Internship - Manufacturing Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to work in a dynamic R&D environment this summer. In this role you will work alongside a group of passionate engineers to create innovative solutions that truly make a difference.
DEKA offers Internships for full time students* (must be at least 18 years of age). Internships last a minimum of 10 weeks, 12 preferred, and summer internships are to begin no later than June 18, 2018.
Job Description:
- Responsible for the assembly of the project modules per the provided operational procedures and will need to record any design and/or assembly issues
- Generate assembly procedures from the work conducted on the project modules
- Use mechanical design background for creating assembly fixtures (as required)
- Perform subsystem and system testing as well as troubleshoot any component and/or assembly related issues
- Provide inputs for DFM and verify module BOMs
Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Mechanical or Manufacturing program
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel
- Mechanical aptitude and hands on mechanical experience (working on cars, fixing bicycles or FIRST robotics a plus)
- Background in machine shop practices
- Knowledge of Solidworks CAD software
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a self-starter eager to contribute in a team environment
- Must be detail oriented
Applicants should be aware that short-term housing options in Manchester, NH are limited and that DEKA is not able to assist with housing. Interns in the past have stayed at a local school that offers their dorms for the summer.
