Demand Planning Internship/Co-Op (Summer 2019)

The goal of the Demand planning team is to provide insights on our global demand for energy products to our engineering, manufacturing, finance and operations teams. As a member of our team, you will help to shape the direction of our products. You must have a deep passion for products that will fundamentally change the world’s energy infrastructure.

The team provides accurate forecasts on our energy products demand to the entire global organization, and is the link between the commercial, operations, supply chain, manufacturing and finance teams. The team also works on new market entries, and provides ad-hoc management for new projects that require coordination between above teams.

The Role:
As intern within the Demand Planning team, you will work on one key project (the team will have two or three projects for you to pick from). If successfully carried out, your work will be implemented and you will have a direct impact on the team. You will also contribute to other projects, which will provide you with visibility on multiple aspects of the team’s role.
  
Potential projects:
 
·         Create demand forecasts on our energy products (Powerwall, Powerpack, Solar Roof, PV) for the Gigafactory production and supply chain teams
·         Create reporting tools in collaboration with the finance team to inform our revenue forecasts
·         Build our internal process to handle international transactions and new market entries
·         Develop system requirements to manage our growing array of products and exponential production volumes
·         Develop solutions to mitigate impact of production constraints on demand

·         Deep passion for changing the way we use energy on the electric grid

Preferred (not required) Background:
·         BS/MS in engineering or technical field
·         Knowledge of battery systems, Power conversion, and grid systems
·         Work experience in management consulting or corporate strategy
·         Experience in forecasting
