Manufacturing Engineering/Innovation Internship (Summer 2019)

We believe you'll love the opportunity to gain valuable hands on experience in our plants or regional distribution centers (RDC’s). You’ll be identifying and analyzing trends of current manufacturing processes, then determining how to best incorporate new technology.
 
Your knowledge of LEAN principles will help you understand how to identify then make suggestions of how technology may improve the organization. The company will value your work, when as you are identifying ways to save money, reduce waste, reduce time, and improve the company’s performance.
 
What you will be doing:
You will partner multi-functionally and with employees at all levels of the business. This may include conducting interviews, meetings and presentations to team members, operations leaders as well as line workers. We believe you will enjoy taking the lead on this project while owning the responsibility for project management and project execution. Don’t worry if this sounds intimidating, you'll collaborate and receive guidance from a senior team member.
 
Who you are:
  • Do you desire to utilize or better understand Design Thinking?
  • Do you have an understanding of manufacturing and operations (either from classroom learning or from a previous internship)?
  • Are you passionate about utilizing new technologies?
  • Are you someone who can observe activities and make creative suggestions?
  • Do you enjoy talking and working with a wide variety of people?
  • Do you seek an opportunity to work both independently and as a team?
  • Are you comfortable thinking through abstract challenges and facing ambiguity?
 
Qualifications:
  • Are you junior pursuing a bachelors or masters student studying: Industrial Engineering, Industrial Operations Engineering, Applied Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering w/ an interest in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations Management.
 
Your Future Team:
You will join a dynamic team of individuals who seek emerging technologies for the purpose of applying these to business challenges. The team consists of both long term employees, new graduates and interns working on both their undergraduate and graduate programs.
