What you will do:
The Operations, Manufacturing Intern could support Cheese Make, Cheese Packaging, Ice Cream, and Whey. This intern will complete special projects that department managers deem necessary for their departments success in safety, food safety and productivity.  Because of the variety of manufacturing processes within the Tillamook plant we are open to a variety of candidates studying the sciences, business and engineering.  

Here’s a day in the life:
  • Assist in Manufacturing based special projects.
  • Organize, plan, and conduct research
  • Analyze and interpret relevant data
  • Manage small projects including defining scope, contacting contractors, soliciting bids, planning/scheduling work, and managing construction activities.
  • Present data in an easy to understand format to employees at all levels of the company.
  • Help sort and identify aesthetically pleasing blocks for future contests.
  • Possess strong analytical, organization, research, and project management skills.
  • Must be able to perform statistical analysis of research data and make inferences based on the analysis.
  • Must be familiar with the cheese production process or be willing to learn the process including factors which influence quality and common process controls. 
  • Must be comfortable teaching and presenting scientific information.
  • Compile information into a report.
  • Possess strong communication-both written & verbal abilities, and internal & external customer service skills.
  • Familiar with information systems, Microsoft software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Visio) and analyzing quantitative information.
 
Skills you’ll need:                                                                 
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work in a food manufacturing plant environment. 

Plant Floor: Space can be crowded with manufacturing equipment. Must remain aware of forklift traffic. Noisy; some areas can be dusty. May encounter extremes in temperature. Requires standing entire shift, walking on uneven, slippery surfaces, stooping, bending and crouching.
