Internship - Biomedical Engineer

DEKA Research & Development, located in Manchester, NH, offers Internships for full time students* (must be at least 18 years of age). Internships last a minimum of 10 weeks, 12 preferred, and summer internships are to begin no later than June 12, 2019.
The Biomedical Engineering Intern will support the regenerative medicine team in performing product design and development tasks, as well as research and testing activities, developing proofs of concept or feasibility demonstrations, and debugging and analyzing challenging problems, under the guidance of team members. Work may range from developing bioreactors and other mechanical systems that support tissue engineering, to developing tissue scaffolds, to optimizing operation and developing motion-control systems for a tissue fabrication line.
Position Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Execute tasks in direct support of ongoing design, development and testing efforts
  • Know and follow all policies that apply to one's job, and maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics and compliance at all times
  • Assume responsibility for successful completion of assigned projects and tasks
  • Work proactively, demonstrating a high level of initiative
  • Prepare technical reports, test summaries, protocols and analyses of experiments
  • Biomedical Engineering Intern must be a technical contributor and exhibit good engineering judgement
Requirements:
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/institution pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, or a related engineering field
  • Solid math and science background
  • SolidWorks experience a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt rapidly to changing circumstances and technology
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills
  • Ability to perform to specific deadlines
  • Possess drive, tenacity, outstanding interpersonal skills, and a high degree of professional and personal integrity
