Internship - Machine Shop
DEKA offers Internships for full time students* (must be at least 18 years of age). Internships last a minimum of ten weeks and summer internships are to begin no later than June 17, 2019.
Interns will be exposed to multiple machines and controllers including HAAS, Mazak and Proto-Trak on 3 to 5 axis machining centers and mill turns in prototype machine shop environment. Will also learn Cam programming and what it takes to create complex precision parts on time in a working environment.
Job Description:
- Prepare stock
- Set up and operate machining centers and lathes per shop personnel instruction
- Inspect finished parts to ensure accuracy
Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled in an Engineering curriculum, Advanced Manufacturing Process Technology and/or Advanced Machine Tool Technology Associates Degree program
- 1+ years’ machining experience
- Must be able to read prints
- 1+ years’ experience with Solidworks preferred
- Experience with mills and lathes
- Desire to be in the machining industry

*A full time student is defined as being enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits per semester at an undergraduate program, or a minimum of 9 credits per semester for a graduate program.
