Production and R&D Planning Intern
HPI in Corvallis, Oregon has a long history of actively recruiting interns and partnering with students to help develop and recruit talent into our industry. Our campus encompasses two million square feet of building space 41% of which is dedicated to cleanrooms, labs, and manufacturing lines for a variety of printing technology products and new product development. We are a leader in MEMS (micro electrical mechanical systems) technology and are excited about helping HP develop the future of additive manufacturing (3D).
This Intern position is intended for Four-year University students, who will have completed their Junior year or for students who have complete their first year in a Masters Program and are seeking an internship role at HP Inc.
Job Description
Production and R&D Planner responsibilities may include, but is not limited to:
· Planning, scheduling and coordinating demand/supply management, business processes and manufacturing/delivery of Production and R&D products.
· Partners with stakeholders to identify/implement opportunities for business process improvement to effectively manage costs, integrate new and existing businesses, and adapt to changes in the business. Leading and working with cross-functional teams, creates and implements plans that enable the execution of business strategies.
· Participates in the process by which demand signals are developed, validated for alignment, supply constraints identified, and an executable plan defined.
· Scope includes execution of processes related to lifecycle planning; order management, commit processes, logistics management and inventory management (including analysis, and optimization).
Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of a mentor, using technical knowledge, business acumen, and partnering skills, the candidate will participate in project teams and activities to:
· Optimize a broad range of complex production and proto processes, such as inventory analysis and planning, demand management and New Product Introduction.
· Identify opportunities for process improvement and develop recommendations requirements for existing and new product introductions.
· Analyze the demand and supply fulfillment strategies, connecting planning to execution, and identifying issues and their impact. Propose enhancements through the management chain.
Knowledge and Skills
· Junior standing or first year of a Masters Program towards BA/BS in Business Management, Operations Management or Supply Chain Management.
· Understanding of Supply Chain processes.
· Analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong Microsoft Office skills – Excel => Macros, VBA, Formulas, etc., PowerPoint, Word, etc.
· Strong project management and organizational skills
· Familiarity with Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
· Knowledge of inventory analysis
· Leadership skills including team-building and conflict resolution and management
· Very strong communication and influencing skills.
