Entry Level Mixed Signal IC Yield Enhancement Engineer

Maxim's Product Engineers apply their talents in analog circuit design, device physics, and semiconductor processing to solve challenging problems in a world class manufacturing environment. We dig deep into circuit architectures and collaborate across technical teams and boundaries to solve problems at their root.

We mentor our product engineers to become technical leaders with a broad skill set. Product Engineering resources include a state of the art failure analysis laboratory, advanced IC design and layout tools, Maxim mixed signal designs, plus specialized yield analysis software.

Maxim is seeking a Product Engineer to support assigned IC products through the full product life-cycle. Assignment may be in Maxim’s industrial, medical, communications, automotive, or mobility solutions groups.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Yield Enhancement on a variety of analog and mixed signal integrated circuits
  • Define problems by identifying failure modes, quantity of material affected, defect density analysis, and other methods.
  • Perform electrical characterization of Maxim’s ICs in the lab
  • Perform fault isolation and physical failure analysis to determine the root cause yield loss.
  • Drive resolution of problems that you identify.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering or Physics
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across engineering disciplines to solve problems
  • Ability to own and drive projects with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters or Ph.D in Electrical Engineering with knowledge of analog integrated circuit design.
