Mechanical Engineer - Summer 2019 Internship

All Interns will be working with an Insitu team member, as a mentor, who shares your passion. You will also get to participate in team-building events, such as community service projects and activities with our executive leadership team throughout your time with the company.
Job Description
A Mechanical Engineer performs the design, layout, testing, and evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical products and systems.
- May perform product development activities, including drawing board layout and interpretation, implementation of customer specifications, and documentation requirements.
- May utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks, and conducts engineering studies.
- May perform risk assessments and generate risk mitigation plans and strategies.
- May specialize in specific field of mechanical engineering, such as hydraulics, electro-mechanical, controls and instrumentation, robotics, tooling, etc.; or in a type of product, such as propulsion systems or mechanical equipment.
Qualifications
- Prefer students that have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 or above.
Strongly Desired
- Knowledge of/classes in Solidworks
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials science, and prototyping techniques
- Knowledge of design and drafting methods including geometric dimensioning & tolerance
- Knowledge of engineering tests techniques, methods, equipment and instrumentation
Education & Experience
- In progress for their Bachelors or Masters Mechanical Engineering degree. Candidates are required to be enrolled in an accredited college or university, currently in their Sophomore or Junior year.
