We are recruiting for Procurement Summer Student at our sawmill in Molalla, OR.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in wood procurement, log yard, and log valuation activities.
- Assist other Interfor foresters with stumpage acquisition, timber sale compliance and logging contractor management.
- Provide analytical support for log procurement activities.
- Assist log procurement and sawmills in data collection and process improvement.
- Inspect logs using established guidelines for log grading.
- Technical assistance with logging operations to achieve QC standards.
What You Offer
- Pursuing a degree in forestry, wood products processing, or related field.
- Knowledge of wood procurement and log markets is preferred.
- Understanding of log quality characteristics as they relate to lumber production is preferred.
- Administrative and computer skills – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Must act with integrity, professionalism and have a positive attitude.
- Physical ability and willingness to work outdoors and in inclement or hot weather conditions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly interactive team environment.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and a busy schedule.
